So... Its that time again.

I didnt get a Bassett Hound puppy which is what I asked for. Instead. I got a coldsore.

I'm trying to be upbeat.

Also... So far as I know noone has made me a cake... but hey its still early.

And I have already got some sweeeeet presents. xx

My absolute darling Irish boy Chris... the other Irish boy... wanted some cupcakes for his friend Beccy's birthday. He'd been a general boy and rubbish at communication and hadnt seen her in a while so wanted to make it up and what better way...

90th Birthday Cupcakes

Remember Anna & Dave who I did my first wedding cupcakes for???

Well they LOVE the cakes! And so do their families!!

So when it was Anna's grandma's 90th birthday Anna asked me for some gorgeous fresh lemon cupcakes with pretty silver and white decoration...

This Weekend...

Was lovely...

From Thursday onwards...

Thursday I had half day so went to meet the boy for lunch. Nandos... And this time I had quarter chicken with mashed potato and macho peas (which, for those that don't know, are peas mixed with some mashed up peas with like chili and stuff all up in there... they do have quite a kick... but are LUSH)

Then we went shopping for birthday fancy dress outfits and birthday prezzies as it was Picto and Darrans birthday. I got tired of shopping before he did and begged to go to the pub... I think he was secretly uber glad...

Went to the pub, met Picto and John had some laughs and then walked back to the boys house where he tried on his outfit... Fancy dress for Pictos birthday was computer game characters... he was Guybrush Threepwood from Monkey Island and he looked HOT. I don't know what it was about that costume... but I was smitten hahah.

Then randomly went to Nottingham where the boys all played football.

Friday Darrans birthday. Was cool because we all went to his and his Xbox is now fixed! YAY!! So we played rockband and some tony hawks skate game where you actually stand on a skateboard... I felt like a dick because I have no balance but I did better than a dead cow. Which is something to be proud of surely? But then again, I have never seen a dead cow play tony hawks skate game haha.

Gave him a tonne of boardgames for his birthday. All from charity shops like but awesome. The boy also got him the neighbours boardgame which we found. Darran had apparently played this before when he was a kid and was already a fan so that was good.

Then Saturday came and I was hungover and still had to make a costume to make me look like a convincing Chun-Li from Streetfighter. I was in no way in the mood. I went to the boys house to get ready in the afternoon and just sat down and cried, partly because I was hungover and pathetic partly because in my rush to bring all my things over I forgot the essential safety pins I was gonna pin my costume together with because I couldn't be arsed to sew it.

The boy was mostly awesome and amazing and gave me lots of cuddles. Disappeared and brought me up diet coke and chocolate biscuits and I thought nothing could get better... Then he put his costume on and that was that.

The evening was fun. Apparently people knew who I was. Some lad came over to me in Mosh and said...
Him: Are you dressed as Chun-Li?
Me: Yes
Him: Let me see your thighs.
Me: *shocked face*

This boy looked about 15. I am 27. Really. Hahaha. Secretly thought it was a bit cool. hahah.

Lar dressed as a lemming. She looked so cool with green hair it was so funny.


Then went home, put candles on and cuddled the boy loads... candles and drunk people shouldn't be allowed haha.

Sunday was lazy. I felt like shit and just chilled on the boys sofa til late.

But then I went home.

I said to Lar... I felt like I had been on holiday, it was that nice a weekend with the boy, and that I dreaded Monday because everything would go back to normal. I wouldn't see him. He wouldn't text. And if he did he would be cold and mean. I hoped hoped hoped that wouldn't happen. In the bottom of my heart I always have hope that he will continue to be the awesome person I know he is... but he didn't.

Lar's Birthday

It was Lar's birthday on Friday and we took on the town. As you do.

But Also...

I made her some beautiful cupcakes in the style of the wizard of oz... because thats what she likes and I am nice like that.

She was amazed because I had made out that I was a shitty friend and that i had not made her anything or brought her anything and generally was a shit but then we took her to dinner and the waitress brought these out and all was redeemed and everyone in the restaurant sang happy birthday and cheered and it was sweeeeeet.

So yeah. We ate good food. We drank good wine. We had good cupcakes. We applied good bronzer. (thank you Laura Mercier ,you god you) and we danced good and hard.

A glorious weekend for cupcakes!

I have been keeping myself busy with cupcakes this weekend. I baked Friday and it was pretty cool doing so, because I bake in the Soundhouse kitchen now, so I get to watch bands while cakes are cooking/cooling etc!

So what have I done....

These cakes were left over from orders that I made so I put them in a pretty glass cake stand and sell them in the Soundhouse. Go there and buy them! Guinness choc cake this week with vanilla butter icing... These ones just looked pretty with various sprinkles and sparkles.

It was Lars moms birthday so Lar put an order in for 6 for the lovely Jane. Jane likes a good cup of tea and a smoke... So we decided to make little ciggies and a tea pot with the words mum. I think they look lovely. With nice purple cupcake cases and lilac and purple glitter... Apparently, she loved them!

See this guy right... That's John. (with me sneaking in the back...) Hes my pal and I love him so being as his birthday was Saturday I thought I would make him some lovely cakes... I wasn't sure what to do on them though and then I thought... I know... I will get creepy on his ass and try and create his head out of icing... a bit like in the "hello" video by Lionel Richie but not as detailed... hahah.

So yeah... look at his face here... and then look at the cupcakes and then compare....

My bro was working the bar when I was creating this and he came into the kitchen and i said... Yo. Do you think this looks like John....? He said .... Hmmmm his hair needs to be higher.

HAHAHAHAAHAH!

Its true. But I worked it... I think I did ok. I hope I creeped him out a bit.

I said "Leave it to me..."

Et Voila!

Vanilla cake base. Red butter icing base topped with a bit of jam for that authentic tomatoey look.

Cherry sour discs for pepperoni.

Green and red liquorice laces for peppers.

Sugarpaste sliced mushrooms.

Grated white chocolate for cheese.

BAD BOY.

Kamrun's Birthday

Today is my awesome friend Kamrun's birthday... she is the baby of the gang and is only 25. I feel pretty lame because they are all out at the pub only around the corner but I am cream crackered and instead am in bed blogging. Work is knackering me at the moment.

But I did do good things... I saw her last night and we did silly things like drink Malibu and Milk (try it... it really is awesome!) chatted for hours and then went on an adventure and followed the boys whilst they were flyering for the Pirate Party... you know the sort of thing... running quietly hiding behind trees and cars trying not to giggle. Was fun...

And then today text her nice birthday messages only for her to say she felt sad and didnt like birthdays and was at work and it was crappo. I hadnt had time to get her a present so I ordered for a beautiful bunch of flowers to be delivered the same day to her work, I couldnt have her feeling sad! I would absolutely die if someone sent me flowers to work so worded the card as...

Happy Birthday Kamrun.

Receiving flowers at work is the gayest thing so...

And then I went home and made her snickers cupcakes because snickers is her fave chocolate bar. Another invention. The photos are crap. Shakey hand tonight...

Sooo...

Birthday tomorrow.

In case anyone is wondering I would appreciate finding at the end of the bed when the morning comes (a bit like christmas just less christmassy) a big St Bernard dog. in fact...scratch that... I would like it as a puppy so I could appreciate it like that and then see it grow and change hahah .... the boy in a bow... just the bow.... maybe some kind of dapper hat just for laughs... a nice cake with candles in it... thats the shame about being "the cake maker" you never really get cake! I think really thats all I want. Oh and some GHDs as my hair without them is a big frizzy mess. Try that with a big fat fringe. not a good look. SO. Although most of you do not know me.... take heed and send the above items forthwith!!
