Cupcake Update 6...

Our girl got married...

Miss Briar Mays became Mrs Briar Casella....

I made her and her new husband some pretty cupcakes as a little wedding present

Cupcake Update 2...

So, this July I baked gorgeous cupcakes for my second wedding order... I'm getting a bit good at this big order lark! This time for Charlotte & Paul, again at the City Rooms in Leicester.

Charlotte & her Irish hubby, Paul asked for the Guinness Chocolate cake as they had had this when Tara ordered some cakes for their engagement present... and Paul said they were the best cupcakes he had EVER had. Take his word for it! They wanted pretty pastel cupcakes as favours for their guests to make up a beautiful table filled with pick and mix sweets in beautiful vintage jars and bowls and a three tiered wedding cake...

See the process below...

And now... on my pretty new Iphone I have a cute application to make your
pictures look like they have been shot on a hipstamatic camera
so the next couple of pics are just me showing that off.... how pretty!!

Going to the Chapel....

Nearly time for my 2nd wedding order. June 25th!

I made some more tester cupcakes for the lovely Charlotte just to make sure I had it right. She wanted simple pastels and sprinkles.

Check out the cute little polka dot cups they are baked in. I have never used anything like that but they were the only pink polka dot cake cases I could find which were of a decent size. But they're quite sturdy and pretty cool.

So, I think this is what we are going with. 150 times over! Wooooo

These are the cakes I made last night for Anna & Dave's wedding today. I went to the gorgeous City Rooms to set them up this morning and this is what happened. I thought I would take pics as I went along to show what went on.
They requested choc guinness cakes with a silver and burgandy theme. And ta da. It was my first wedding and I was well nervous but the boy came and set up with me and calmed my fears. I would like to thank my mom for helping me friday with cleaning up and stuff and making me endless cups of tea and going to get me stuff if I ran out. And I would like to thank the boy for getting up really early on a saturday morning even though he had been out with his football boys friday night and making sure I didnt fall apart!
The photos dont do it justice. They looked so pretty and looked lovely set against the other wedding tables.
Congratulations Anna & Dave!!! Hope you liked them!!!!!
After setting up the cakes me and the boy went Christmas tree shopping for a real tree, felt really wintery and had such fun. What an overall awesome day. The tree looks beaut. The garland over the fireplace looks beaut, and the roaring fire is beaut. Happy days!
Clothes Show tomorrow. Nightttt xxxxx

Hardcore baking....

The other night was Friday and instead of my usual "hardcore" drinking (really not that hardcore...1 wine and I'm chattering like i dont know what) I replaced it with hardcore baking.

Til 3am. GETTING STRESSED. I was supposed to be making test cakes for the nice people who have asked me to bake their wedding cupcakes. Now they wanted Burgundys and whites and silvers and glitters. WELL. making burgundy butter icing is the most arsehole thing to do in the world plus it was about 11pm and I couldnt make out whether it was the light being funny on my eyes or it just looked shit. Was it burgundy? Was it brown? I was only making six for them and it was starting to take over my life. It was all I had been thinking about for a whole week pretty much! What to do with them? Will they look good? Will they taste good? Will they like them...blah blah!

Well this is them...The colours are wrong. They didnt look that brown in the day... but still not burgundy as I would have liked. At the time when it was getting closer to 1am I thought I was going to smash all the cakes in. The red was just an example of some shimmery edible paint I had. It looks really garish in comparison with the others but oh well like I say they were just examples to be getting on with... They were glittery and swish and the insides were 2 guinness choc and three vanilla with gooey choc centre. Mmm mmm mmmmmm.
