Cupcakes galore....

SO I had birthday cakes to make for my dad's friend Nathan. Nathan is a tattoo artist so I did a little mock up of him tattooing some guys back...

Check out the website for the tattoo shop he runs... My dad also works there...its pretty cool...
http://www.tattoosleicester.co.uk/

These are again guinness cake with black and white butter icing and black fondant stars with words piped on. And some black glittery stars. And of course, the fondant man,

Then I also had been asked by Picto to make some pretty cakes for a wedding present. This time I made vanilla cupcakes filled with squidgy nutella and then iced in baby pink butter cream edged with baby pink sugar and a light dusting of white holographic glitter and then i piped a nice bright pink heart on each of them...
Then I also made him six more to take home to Mary and Pete his lovely lovely folks. Pete isnt a massive fan of icing so what I did there was not only fill them with nutella but also spread it all over the top. And then I sprinkled them with nice chocolatey sprinkles.
And then Mary's were pretty much like the wedding cakes but with different pink sprinkles on top.

And there were smiles all round. x

Last one I promise!!

I thought I would put this on here because I made these time and time ago!

I made these for a man called Karl because he was having a stag do and he is the boy's friend and in turn I guess kinda my friend too. He's a lovely guy and fully deserved these cupcakes and gets props because he put this picture of them on facebook... which I then stole because I didnt have a photo!

Somehow! Anyway... here they are...

The point is that the boys all say that Karl is so hairy he looks like a wookie... (you should know what that is... if not...

SO I made little wookie cakes and also a stag hahahah.

Karl is pretty talented and lives in London Town being sick at architecture and stuff like that... He had his drawing up in the London Underground...

Go check out his website... http://www.singporewala.co.uk/

Oh its been a day full of posts today!!

So, Jo at work was going on her maternity leave to have a little girl... She is due on Valentines Day which is cute... and she asked me to make her some baby cakes to bring into work on her last day...

I made her swirled pink and white vanilla cupcakes with pink buttericing and made various baby bits and bobs out of icing for the top and piped bits and bobs also. Piping appears to be improving.

And here... for your viewing delight....

They are all the same colours... the ones that look lighter pink were taken on the evening I made them and the light wasnt very good. The brighter ones were taken in day light.
Jo was chuffed.
Good luck with mummyhood Jo xx

Oh boy... makes you proud to be British doesnt it.

Mushroom soup at work is not nice....

I am being super healthy at the moment... and by super healthy I just mean I am trying to not eat the world...or my feelings... so I am being healthy. In our house we say "we're on health". And we dont do things by halves. Normally we count calorie of everything going, eat only vegetables and the odd bit of prawn or chicken, do exercise, join gyms, buy a wii fit board, watch diet programmes. But I am in it for the long haul this time. I am still doing all of the above... minus the only vegetables thing...because lets be fair noone can go on like that. Although a bonus to me is that I love love love veg, especially anything green, so I can eat a tonne of it. But I am making healthy things like veg in tomato sauce with brown rice and things and eating a breakfast of ryvita and philli light and eating soup for lunch that kind of thing. I have the odd slip up here and there but I am trying to train myself to not see this a complete failure and eat a whole cake but to simply say "oh no you've eaten 27 biscuits... you must now not even so much as look at a biscuit for 7 days!" You know, that kind of thing hahah.

AND! I have not had a chocolate bar for a WEEK! (bear in mind I did have one of Rachels guinness chocolate cupcakes mentioned below... but still its not a chocolate bar... and for those that dont know me THAT my friends is what keeps me alive!) SO a week for me is proper hardcore. I let the boy know last night that I had not had any chocolate and he congratulated me. Then I told him I also thought I was falling apart inside body and mind because of this fact and that I didnt think I could go on... so he kindly said that tonight he would have a chocolate bar and give me 2 squares. AND its GOLDEN CRISP. AND its his last one! Thats the kind of boy he is. Nice and thoughtful. WHEN HE WANTS TO BE. (there are times when he can be such a nob, but thats by the by and I think hes awesome anyway... flaws included.)

ANYWAY... I digress... so I'm on soup again today although I can smell everyones food in the office and someone had a chip bap and the chips smelt so good and she had mayo and cheese on the chips... BUT I stayed strong and I avoided the canteen and went to the coffee shop instead for soup and a roll. And it was mushroom soup and I LOVE LOVE LOVE mushrooms... so much so that my friend Mark calls me a mushroom perve... but then again he cant stand mushrooms and he calls anyone that eats so much as one a mushroom perve... but its HORRIBLE. And I am not a picky picky eater. But I cannot stomach it. Its fresh and its blended. But not very well. And the only thing that I am picky about if LUMPS. mashed potatoes... lumps? NO TA. I dont know what else comes with lumps... (well apart from NEXT mushroom soup) but I am pretty sure I wouldnt like it. So disappointingly I cannot eat the soup.

So I have been and brought a pack of french fries... only 97 cals dont you know... and a muller cherry yogurt. All set. F. you soup. (sat on the desk taunting me...git)

I am trying to curb my swearing. I am a disgrace. I apologise in advance. I am changing all swears for the first initial. I have decided. Especially around the office. I think people think I am funny a bit but you only need one person who is new and doesnt like it and it can open up a whole can o' worms.

Yesterday I made a big cake... Not a massive cake but a big cake for me... for a girl at work.... And I didnt like it. NOT one little bit. I am nervous about big cakes. They frighten me a bit. I am not comfortable with them. It looked alright (pics to come) but I still felt like it was the enemy. If it had a name it would have been Paul. Even though it was pink. It looked like a paul and was shifty and if it could look it would have been sneering at me. Shooting the evils. I hate Paul.

** I apologise if you are called Paul... or know someone called Paul... or if your dad/brother/uncle is called Paul... Its a generalisation. I dont even know anyone called Paul. Except Paul Daniels... well I dont know him but I think hes a bit weird...**

SO, last night Paul caused me a bit of heartache just because he was being a general s. And the boy also caused me a bit of heartache. Also being a general s. The boy and a cake. A pair of idiots. I bet he's never been compared to a cake before. Well I may have said he's yummy like cake but never compared him to a bad cake. Hmph to the boy.

He was coming for tea and I was making a thing with chicken veg chilli low fat natural yogurt and rice. (He's tryin to be healthy too) to be honest that day I didnt really fancy it but I had said I would make it and I thought he would really like it because he likes spicy. and I had text him in the day to say "you still on for dinner yo!" you know, that kind of thing, but he didnt reply but I didnt think owt of it because sometimes hes with people all day at work and doesnt even look at his phone... BUT ANYWAY... I start stressing because the kitchen is a state and I have to make Paul and I kinda wanna go hang out at the bar and play the quiz with the boy and have dinner and stuff. SO I manage to get out of work half hour early and convince ma to pick me up we drive to the local cooperative stores and purchase ingredients for dinner and then she drops me off. I start tidying and start panicking that I look like s. So I need to do something about that before he comes over etc etc. AND I still have to bake paul.

As I am washing up I think... if the boy texts me and says "can we leave it" I will not be fussed. BUT. At 6pm. 6! SIX. he texts and says in response to my 3pm text... "Oh I forgot, I have pasta sauce that needs eating so gonna have that".

ERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. Forgive me if I am wrong but this upset me a bit. I'm not irrational. I'm not a permanent a. hole. I'm not one of those clingy girly girls. BUT! have the decency to apologise.

SO I burst into tears (its that time...) and have a little sob whilst washing the pots (I think it was the stress of creating Paul which also contributed to this little outburst) I decide not to text him as I am too mad at the fact that sometimes he is a thoughtless a. hole.

The later I calm down a bit and say "I'm not mad about tonight. I was a bit upset at first but nevermind, Im just saying Im not a monster, If you had just said at any point in the day 'i dont reckon I am up for later' it would have been fine. Don't treat me like an idiot. I'm not mad just a bit meh etc..." there was more but its boring to you out there...

but the point is he text and said he was sorry he was being thoughtless and crap. and he would make it up etc etc. So thats lovely.

**THIS POST IS LONG... SOZ**

So then I made Paul... and in a way wanted to scream at him. But he's done and I will NOT be making a big cake again. NO.

Then I watched fat families, biggest loser & diet tribe with gabby topped off with some SATC reruns and then went to bed happy.

So all is not lost.

If you dont watch fat families. You should do. Google it. Its funny.

OH! Funnier is Lorraine Kellys Big Fat Challenge... With the Chawner family. The huge girl that auditioned for Xfactor - her family. Its truly disgusting. And funny. But only because they are so fat and in no way prepared to even help themselves and just expect to live off benefits because they are too fat to work and they need to fund their junk food diet. Truly disgusting.

Its been ages since I typed about what was happening in my world so I thought I would.

I really enjoy reading everyone elses... not to say that any of you will enjoy reading mine... but least I get to vent I guess.

If you do read and have got this far without falling asleep. MANY MANY thanks. You deserve a medal.

I will send medals.

Numero quattro

Soooo... Last one for this week... wow its been busy!!

The boy asked me to make him some cakes as he had moved teams at work and wanted to make a good impression haha. He wanted all the names piped on! shhhiiiiit...

but. I did it. even though I thought it would kill me. I think the butter icing I piped with was of the wrong consistency and it was really hard to pipe and my hand had turned into a claw. hahah

I thought he may try and pass them off as his own but he didnt and it was cool and everyone loved them.

(ps. the piping is bobbins)

el numero tres

These little beauties.... WELL.

I think I have fallen in love with the little men hahah. They are so cute! I make comics and they are little men that look like this so never expect any people that actually look real. They will always look like this! This is how I see people. hahaha. Everyone has a bald head.

So this was another birthday order through work... Simons 40th. He likes manchester united and also the new york rangers so I thought I would incorporate this in.

Little manchester united players and the badge. (which was hardcore to pipe...think my self teaching is going ok....)

Little n.y rangers players and the badge

And ta daaaaaaa...

Nummer zwei...

My girl at work Rachel had a birthday... Its today in fact... I am gonna text her...anyway...

I thought I would make her Guinness chocolate cupcakes (which is so so so so popular...and I am in no way surprised cuz its AWESOME... seriously... if you dont believe me buy some of my cakes and seeeeee!!) and take them into work on friday...

I decorated them quite simply in pretty pink butter icing and sprinkled them with a variety of sprinkles haha. And then... as part of my self teaching... I piped on "Rachel" rather poorly. BUT like I say...still learning eh!

Safe to say she loved them... she even shared them with us at work... so I got to have one which I rarely do and it was lush. oh yeah.

Happy Birthday Rach.

Catching up on cupcake posts....Numero Un!

So.... one of the first orders I had in this past week was for the lovely lady I did the wedding cakes for... She requested 12 cupcakes for her father in laws birthday.

her lists of wants were...
guinness chocolate cupcakes
greens and blues
musical notes
"pops"
little bit of sparkle.

So I went and made some guinness cupcakes for her and then I made musical notes out of fondant and also little presents out of fondant. All black. Then I piped green ribbons on the presents. I made stars out of black fondant as a back ground to the piped letters spelling out POPS.

I think it looks pretty cute really. I never really pipe owt because I dont think I am very good so I decided now was the time to teach myself... Didnt work out too bad... (another reason is because I lost my letter cut outs... theyre crap anyway. Theyre too skinny and look a bit lame sometimes...)

And then I piped a mish mash of green and blue buttericing onto the cakes so it was all marbley and nice. and sprinkled a lil bit of blue holographic glitter on (i do heart my glitter...Im building up quite the collection...) and popped on the music notes and presents, put them in a box and put on some nice blue and green ribbon and the photos you see on this post are the finished article.

Wham bam thank you mam.

oh no....

...I'm watching a programme on E4 called "Hollyoaks - The Good, The Bad & The Gorgeous... it's like a compilation of Hollyoaks' best bits... Which was fine until it just showed a clip from the episode where Max was mown down by Niall and killed on his wedding day and I just got emotional.

Oh Max and OB. The best comedy pairing in British soaps ever.

Went out for drinks and indian with the girls tonight(oh and Dave, Cary, Dixon & Ben). T'was nice.

Picking the boy up from the airporto tomorrow. Uber Excited....

I just really liked this...

This was at the Clothes Show and I just really like it. It started with Use Somebody by Kings of Leon being sang all acousticy. It might have been Pixie Lott as I have heard her do it but I cant be sure and then it merged into the Kings of Leon version as the dance progressed and I just really liked it so thought I would share a bit with yous. xx

December then....

Weeelll... this is in back to front order because I still havent learnt about adding pictures on this damn thing but oh well.

So Christmas day was nice... the boy got me this...

A Hello Kitty toaster which prints the face of Kitty on the toast haha. Its amazing! He also got me a book I used to read when I was a kid. He's good at remembering things... In general he's just good.

Ma & Pa totally outdid themselves and got me this!

I REALLY needed it. I think they got it because of that fact and because I had borrowed my Ma's old one and she basically wanted it back hahah.

Then our house got this as a joint present from our friend Laura. ALSO amazing.

(It's a toilet seat cover)

Hello David, Hello.

I took Brodie into town and we went shopping and looked at the lights and then went to the City Gallery where they had a kids activity day going on and we made decorations for the tree out of glitter ribbon feathers and laminating papers.

Me and the girls all took a trip to London to do a bit of last minute shopping and looking at lights and visiting my boss in the London office. Managed to buy loads. Including a nice green pair of Vans. Awesome.

And it snowed and me and Lar felt well festive walking down Tottenham Court Road. Got to Oxford Street and it had gone and was replaced with wetness and giant puddles.

Went to Winter Wonderland on Hyde Park or something. Was OK. But it rained.

On my birthday my ma's friend made me this...

She also had made me one when I was little. And I always went on about it. So she did me another one. WICKED. It was filled with M&Ms.

Went to the work Christmas do in Brum. We had Michael McIntyre & The Sugababes hahaha.
I like the Sugababes, I dont so much like Michael McIntyre... But he was ok, wine was £1. I got drunk. Anything is ok when youre drunk... Well I dont condone EVERYTHING but you know what I mean ahaha.
Had the "christmas fuddle" in the office. I had never heard the term "fuddle" before. I still prefer plain old BUFFET. It was nice though. Got some slipper boots for secret santa. Theyre amazing.

Went to the Clothes Show... the stalls and all that for clothes were a bit shit and tacky but the vintage bit was awesome and then when I had seen a few catwalk shows it was good. My ma took me it was nice to spend some time with her.
The main show was so amazing I was lost for words. Dancing. Clothes. Hot men. Hot girls. Glitter. Lights. All of it. Oh and Reese from Hollyoaks though to be fair he seemed well up his own ass so no...

But there was Gok Wan, Ferne Cotton and Dave Berry...
I don't like Gok Wan either. Remember your roots Gok. Leicester born and bred. Oh yeah my dad told me your brother can do a one inch punch. Thats pretty sick.

and thats that folks. All in all a lovely time. Unfortunatately the boy has nipped off back to Belfast to see his family for Christmas but will be back on tuesday so all is good.
I think I had the best family Christmas which I didnt really expect because normally its just me my ma my dad and brother Joe. But this year we had my auntie and her boyfriend for dinner and Nan and Gramps and Brother Joes mate Ben because his parentsl ive far and he didnt have enough time off work to go home to them. So it was really fun. Next doors came over. I got drunk and we played games and had a sing song and a strum on the old guitar.
Nice one. Thanks to my family and friends for all the fun and games and presents and love.
Thanks to the boy for the toaster I will now be amused by toast as long as it lasts. LOVE IT. xxx
Sooo... I've been so busy over the Christmas period that I have had no time to blog at all... So I thought I would first of all let you all know what cupcakes I have been making over the festive period and then blog again to let you know whats been going on overallllll... yep.

So... the boy asked me to make some cupcakes so that he could give some to his sister in law for christmas... So I went to town... Guinness chocolate cakes with vanilla butter icing and various christmas shenanigans going on on top...

Wreaths...

Snowmen (that look a little bit like penguins...)

Stars...
Christmas Trees...

All together now...

And in a pretty box with christmas ribbon etc...

Then Picto asked me to make some for his ma being as she loved them so much last time... he had pretty much the same but Mary isn't a great fan of buckets of icing so I made these ones Chocolate Guinness cupcakes with the same icing but no christmas trees and replaced those three with no icing but a splodge of nutella to ice on top. Once again... In a pretty box with nice ribbons...

Also because these cakes were all baked in the boy's kitchen as a change of scenery one morning whilst all the boys were around to watch the football I made them some pretty glittery cupcakes to munch on to make a change from all the doritos and dips.
Ta daaaa...

So pretty much all Christmas have been making Christmas cakes like the ones above for presents for my housemates familys and my family and my friends. I have worked flat out... So on Christmas day I got very drunk on Smirnoff Nordic Berries blue vodka... if you havent tried it... try it...its amazing... and then slept til boxing day evening. LOVELY.
Hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas and that Santa brought them everything they asked for!!!
