Day 9 ... On time!

Something I have been proud of the past few days...

If you recall ages ago I blogged of my dislike for big cakes here and I believe in the past I have said I will not be making big cakes again... But then my friend Steve Holyoake came about and wanted a big cake for his girlfriend to celebrate their 6 month anniversary. I had seen this and fallen in love with it... So decided to pay homage to The Whisk Kid and recreate.

And after faffing for about 6 hours with swiss meringue buttercream... making enemies with it... whispering obscenities in its ear... I finally got the hang of it and went for it.

And, to be honest, I am proud... and I dont feel sooo bad (only just) about big cakes any more. And this one was rather large.

So this lovely lady, Kellie from Get The Words Out is doing this blog thing where you have something to do each day... if you get me. I am having a right shit time of it right now. I feel sad even looking at this blog because I used it to write down a lot of happy memories I had that I feel all crushed and crappy about right now and I am just not feeling writing or updating or anything... but I have been having a read of everyones stuff and I noticed this and thought maybe it would help me out a bit... A Little Warning... and a tiny apology...

The apology is...

That I havent blogged in AGGGGES. I dont know if anyone has noticed...

(except for little Quincifer over there at ...Like A Fool In The Rain...
Who, might I add, has a wicked awesome blog and is my blog pal. So go check her out)

But yeah, whether you have noticed or not. I havent... and I feel a bit sad about that. People still manage to blog who have had babies or have probably lost fingers in some kind of machinery accident but me. No. But... I think... I am pretty much back.

I need to get out of my black cloud and maybe you lot, you fine readers you, can help me out of it.

And now for the warning...

I have been making cupcakes... Lots of them so as soon as I get a night to chill and upload photos you will be bombarded. Bombarded with lots of pictures that will make you dribble on your keyboard*.

I'm happy today. Made a bunch of cakes last night. Photos to come... And then the boy invited me over for dinner and we curled up and watched a film and had a sleepover. First night of lovely undisturbed sleep in a while.

CD Exchange of Awesome-ness

Remember a while I ago I participated in a CD swap with a lovely lass called Claire well... I got my stuff from her! It has been a while and its my own laziness that I have reported this late! Sorry Claire!

Here's what I received.

A cool looking envelope on my dining room floor when I got back from work! Sure made a cool change to bill this, bill that!!

A really cute little card with a wee note in about how cool it was to be part of the exchange

And then the two CDs came in this super cool little booklet thing that Claire had made!

I was totally overwhelmed by the packaging alone! It was sooooo cool! I felt a bit bad that mine was a bit second rate! But at least I know for next time what I need to aim for! Never under estimate how crafty/arty/talented/thoughtful people are!!


I did take a picture of the CDs I dont know why. I think it was because I had one of them in the stereo in the kitchen and the other one in the stereo in my bedroom.


They are crammed with the most awesome songs. And although some stuff I may well have not picked myself I love it all which has opened my eyes to a lot of things and some stuff, well! I was amazed because it was totally stuff I would like!

Thanks so much Claire! When I get some time I might even send you some other stuff just because its nice to have a little bit of a penpal hey!!

If anyone knows of any more of these snazzy little exchange things please tell me because it was the first one i did and I really really enjoyed it! It really made my day to receive such lovely things!

Cool Blog = Dolce Vita....

Do you know why.... Because the lovely Micaela is doing a give away and I want to win! I never win. I want to win for once. And I want to win because I want a chalk mug. AND I want a bow necklace.

Why do I deserve all these good things.

• I have done 4 exercise classes this week so far and its only Wednesday.
• I like to forward roll from my bedroom to the bathroom.
• I have only eaten one easter egg this week.
• If I eat any of Lar's food from the fridge I always replace it.
• I would only use the finest cheeses if I were to make Macaroni Cheese.
• I eat my crusts.
• I like shoes.
• I do not shout at dogs.

BUT ABOVE ALL...and the real reason.... not the selfish reasons I just wrote...because I am trying to be funny.... but really I am not....

Go look at her blog because its lovely and she is lovely and writes really nice things that I think are interesting to read and theres lots of pretty pictures to browse.

Inspiration-less

Oh me. Oh my.

I have nothing to do at work. Literally nothing. I sit and wait for someone to update their blog. Or looking for new blogs. Or just staring. Or you know seeing how much water I can drink in an hour. Or going on walks. Or reading magazines or generally just umming and ahhing and making up tunes in my mouth. (most people here probably think I'm a bit mental) BUT. my friend Picto keeps saying draw comics. AND I SHOULD! but... the problem lies with me being lazy and doing nothing is proving able to make me more lazy. People have asked for comics and they have given me titles but I have no inspiration. None. NADA.

That's bad isn't it. Oh boo. I've lost the will to draw little story board comics. I am lame.

But then as I was sat here pondering google images (type in "dogs in costume" it'll make for a fun day) and I thought I know! (LIGHT BULB!) I'm gonna do a series for the blog... everyone else is doing it... I wanna be in with the cool kids... So my series is Thought of the Day Comics not really a series like everyone else has but hey create your own steeze eh.

So at points in the day when I'm either thinking or mid conversation. I get that "oooh feeling" a feeling I get when I think I can draw that!!! Oh the inspiration is backkkk.

Well. Wait til the comics come. First. hahahah. I'm gonna start them next week I reckon. Well. I have started them already but being as I have to give them to picto to scan and email to me until we get to the new house and actually get Internet and I can set up my little scanny thing they will be thoughts of the day just a week too late. Only you wont know that... Because you didn't think that... Oh but you will now. Cuz I just told. Oh. Never mind. Don't hold it against me hahahah.

To be fair I think all the blogs that are on my reading list are cool. So check them out when you got a sec. They're all so lovely and pretty. Mine is basic and shit. I don't know how you make them all fancy. Someone take a trip to me and teach me!! It took me about 3 months to learn how to "make a link a word" thank you google. I owe you one.

Making more cupcakes tonight. A birthday order and tester cakes for the wedding I am doing in June. SO she can get an idea of what I am going for with the decoration. I'm not massively sure myself. Again for some reason Valentines seems to have sucked dry all my inspiration and enthusiasm and now I'm like errrrr... But I am hoping it comes to me later!

Meeting the boy after work for a quick drink ( he quit drink for lent... and then promptly gave up a week later. These Irish hey... Ah well hes still lenting the takeaway.) then on to the new house with Gablar to sign up! The reference checks are all clear in Joel's own words... "We are all systems go!" Thanks Joel (the nice man the house belongs to) So excited... slightly sad... but still good!

PS. The boy told me he secretly did appreciate the book I made him. *swoooon*

Time for Positive Thinking????

I'm not trying to bring everybody down. I am a really bubbly person and it takes something out of the ordinary to knock me down, so please bear with me while I get a grip!! Feel free to leave kind words of encouragement/wisdom/funniness etc.

But just so you know I am trying...

I went and had a read of this beautiful lady's blog earlier and her latest post grabbed my attention and made me feel a bit better. Her blog is so lovely and nice and always gets me thinking.... Thanks for that...

Current books:
I haven't read in ages, although I do love reading. I realised I have Cheryl Coles book to read that my lovely friend bought me for my birthday last year and I STILL haven't read it. I think I will read that next. I read absolute tat... In case you hadn't gathered.

I always have, always will love the Ataris. True love never dies. The same goes for Mcfly. I love them. I'm such a gimp.

Current shame inducing guilty pleasure:
Oh dear... N-Dubz... Anytime I hear their music I just want to dance about.

I love purple and I love green. I wear them alone. Together. Whatever. I love colours. Actually. Today I am wearing a black tulip skirt with a green hawaiian shirt tucked in and a red cardi. Nice. Sounds awful but it looks alreet. People at work say I look nice? They might just be being polite.

Cupcakes and the baking of them. Dogs in costumes. Shoes. Christmas. Glitter.

Current drink:
I'm off the wine. I turn into a right shit when I drink it. I am all about Vodka and tonic right now. Though its a bit boring. Bring on cocktails. It is Christmas after all!

I like anything me. But I love When Harry Met Sally. I always have, always will. And Comedy Central have been playing it recently. I sound like a right loser right. But you can't help what you like. I don't care. 80's films are my favourite. Plus I think I slightly fell in love with Billy Crystal thanks to this film.

Current tv shows:
Supersize Vs. Superskinny. Scrubs. Anything Gordon Ramsey... Especially F-Word. Office...The American Workplace. X-Factor...Well I did, its getting a bit boring. But I'm still in the office sweepstake so its still fun!

Current wish list:
New mixer for the cakes. GHDs because I smashed mine. GOOOOOD! (twat) The boy. A cute little cupcake shop. For my friends to be happy.

Being asked to make 100 cupcakes to pile up into a wedding cake. These people are lovely and I am actually rather honoured that they have put their trust in me!
